Time: 12:00 PM to 01:30 PM
Format: Online Webinar
Description: IET is an approach to providing adult basic skills education concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation and job skills training for the purpose of educational and career advancement. Participants in IET programs (or IELCE programs, in the case of those funded by section 243(a) of WIOA for English language learners) enroll in both adult education and job training courses, team-taught and with a single set of learning objectives. In California, IET programs have increased in number over the past five years, but could they be scaled to serve greater numbers of students? This webinar draws from a series of listening sessions and interviews conducted earlier this year and will highlight lessons learned from adult education providers and community colleges who have designed and implemented IET programs, in order to inform expanded use of the approach statewide. A panel of practitioners and students will share their experiences with this promising strategy. Please join us for this discussion, and bring your questions and your own stories to share.
